RIP Franz West. A few years ago we were proud to have mounted his exhibition Franz West, To Build a House You Start with the Roof: Work, 1972–2008. West also designed the casework and seating in our permanent galleries for art from the Pacific Islands, on view in the Ahmanson Building’s first level.
[Edit: Here’s a link to the Facebook photo album we did at the time of the exhibition installation - a great look at so much of his work.]
Franz West, Sisyphos IX, 2002, Papiermâché, Styrofoam, cardboard, lacquer, acrylic paint, 68.5 x 59.8 x 44.1 in. The Rachofsky Collection, Dallas, © Franz West
