Domenico Gnoli. Souris Blanche sur la nappe, 1967.
The life of Domenico Gnoli (1933-1970) was brief but his creative output was richly imaginative. The pictures above, found in the remains of Giornale Nuovo, are from his Bestiario Moderno collection and have a fanciful Fornasetti meets Edward Gorey vibe. He also published a delightfully illustrated tome, Orestes or The Art of Smiling, which looks well worth seeking. Read more about this overlooked artist here.
