Karl Blossfeldt.

 Sculptural and iconic, the floral images of Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932) are familiar to many. Is it because of their timeless beauty, or simply because they’re now in the public domain? Possibly a little of both. Blossfeldt was a self-taught photographer, guided by his love for plant life. Using a home-made camera, he was able to magnify his subjects in ways which preceded yet inform the macro photography of today.
