This is a drawing to illustrate a Passage from Catcher in the Rye. Its a study for a book cover i did, i can’t show that yet though as its in a competition that gets announced next week.

“Certain things […] you ought to be able to stick […] in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone,”

This image illustrates an idea that Salinger returns to throughout the book about the way that people are unreliable because their character and behaviour is not fixed in space. He does this by speaking through his protagonist in one instance by speaking about the way that the things in a museum case always stay the same. So while every time we revisit a museum we have changed the objects in the cases have not.
