Christy Langer. Wild Nature.

Opening this Friday, May 4th at Philadelphia’s Wexler Gallery is a group show, ‘Wild Nature’ curated by artist Sienna Freeman (who we introduced to the site here.) The works explore the strange and sometimes terrifying aspects of nature in a variety of mediums including stunning animal sculptures by artist Christy Langer and Victorian inspired blown glass reliquaries that house bits of flora and fauna from artist Andy Paiko. Tempered by a delicate beauty, the work often explores the cycle of life and death as realized through the use of bone and the dangerously wild nature of beasts. ( by JL Schnabel)
